Our Artist

Omobolanle Oluwanisola Ayomide, popularly known as Ayomeekun is a Nigerian-born emerging Afro-pop songwriter and singer who kicked off his musical journey professionally in 2016 at the age of 16, launching his career with a song titled “fake love”.

He grew up in a family of entertainers who were based both in Lagos and Ibadan, allowing him to shuffle between both cities where he grew up with his siblings, experiencing the rich and distinctive musical cultures.

Growing up, Ayomeekun would always turn to music for solace as he’d stay clutched to the radio to keep up with a wide range of tunes. This influenced his natural capacity to adjust to the dynamics of the music industry, which are continuously changing.

Mostly he listened to Yinka Ayefele, Ebenezer Obey, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, King Sunny Ade, Michael Jackson, Bob Marley and his heavily influenced by the artiste within the Afro-beat genre.

Unlike the typical narrative, Ayomeekun never started from the choir because he was wary of his voice being heard. However, in secondary school, he started composing songs and singing to entertain his school mates. He went as far as recomposing his secondary school anthem to suit his musical preference.

His musical talent earned him a record deal with the very prestigious Fortune Flip Entertainment as he emerged the winner of the “open your fortune music” competition. This feat connected him with many established record producers and artistes alike.
